Formation: new pitch taking shape

Building work has finally kicked-off on the new 3G all-weather artificial pitch at Dyce park this week.

The new synthetic turf pitch is being constructed in Dyce Academy’s playing fields and will be for the use of the school and local football and rugby clubs.

At a cost of £448,000 the 3rd generation will be of a FIFA 2 standard, the top accreditation for football artificial grass.

The project is partially funded by a Cashback for Communities award of £300,000, awarded to Aberdeen City Council in 2013.

Councillor Graeme Lawrence hopes construction will be completed before this year’s Gala Day – 25 June.
