​Fire crews are battling a huge blaze at the newly refurbished Britannia Hotel. 

Police have closed off access via Old Meldrum Road while firefighters battle to control the blaze. 

Six fire crews are in attendance. 

Hotel residents were evacuated at 5pm after fire broke out in the restaurant and gym areas.

 One resident was told by a manager that the fire had started after workmen re-felting the roof left a blow torch on. 

No one is believed to have been injured. ​More to follow…
